This New Orleans themed resort has lush greenery, picturesque water views, and it’s completely walkable. The resort hotel buildings themselves have two different sections: Alligator Bayou and Magnolia Bend. The atmosphere of Magnolia bend guest rooms is reminiscent of the charm from old Southern manors; I even had the luxury of staying in a Magnolia Terrace pool view room. There are also guest rooms themed to Princess and the Frog, making them the perfect place for any young princes or princesses to stay.
Additionally, the resort is home to a sit-down dining location, Boatwright’s Dining Hall, and one of my favorite quick service dining options, Riverside Mill Food Court. The resort also has an amazing gift shop near the lobby, Fulton’s General Store, with adorable animatronics in it! Fulton’s General Store will have your iconic Disney merchandise, some of which you can find in the parks, as well as souvenirs related to New Orleans and Tiana. This gift shop is quite large and decorated with perfect Disney theming. It’s worth a walkthrough even if you aren’t planning on buying anything.

There are a few special things that make this resort particularly unique. The first is that this resort has its own water taxi to Disney Springs. The ride takes no more than 15-20 minutes. Additionally, it is connected by a walking trail to Disney’s French Quarter Resort. Riverside also has its own horse drawn carriage rides. For an added cost, you’ll be able to take a 25-minute ride around the resort’s Sassagoula riverbank. One of my favorite parts of the resort is the main pool located in the center of the resort in Ol’ Man Island. While there are also smaller pools scattered throughout the resort, this is the only place you'll find a waterslide! Near the pool there are lots of shaded areas and plenty of chairs.
